About me
I was born in the city of Durango, Mexico. From childhood, I had a great passion for music, radio, and entertainment. I loved playing radio host; I especially remember one time I recorded my voice on a cassette tape, pretending I was broadcasting a radio show. The tape belonged to my grandfather Ángel and contained his favorite songs.
I also enjoyed watching the DJs and mobile sound system operators (*sonideros*) of that era. During the famous "sound system battles," it was impressive to see the massive equipment they brought and the energy they generated among the crowd. Those experiences sparked my interest in the world of sound and live entertainment.
At the age of 20, I arrived in the United States in search of new opportunities. This new chapter of my life began in 1997. Around the year 2000, I decided to study broadcasting at the Hollywood Cultural Center (CCH). After completing my studies, I tried to carve out a path for myself in the fascinating world of radio.
Although establishing a professional career in that field wasn't easy, I have no regrets about my studies or the time I spent collaborating with various radio stations—even when I wasn't getting paid. That experience allowed me to learn, grow, and meet various artists—including Marisela, known as "The Latin Madonna"—as well as other entertainment personalities.
I began working as a DJ in 2002, and by 2004, I had a large client base seeking me out to provide entertainment for their parties. Later, I created a concept called "DJ: Do It Yourself," which involved renting out sound equipment with a curated dance music playlist, allowing clients to host their own parties. The idea was a huge success and actually performed better than attending every event in person.
Over the years, I also faced difficult times. On one occasion, my sound equipment and all my computers were stolen. This caused a major slump in my business and left me so discouraged that I decided to step away from DJing for a while. However, many clients kept calling to ask me to provide entertainment for their celebrations. Although I couldn't accept at first—since I hadn't yet recovered all the necessary equipment—I gradually managed to rebuild what I had lost. Through effort and perseverance, I returned to performing at parties and dedicating myself to what I have always been passionate about.
Looking back, I fondly remember all the parties I had the opportunity to host and every client who trusted my work. I have been through many situations—both good and challenging—but they are all part of my story and have helped me move forward.
To all the wonderful clients who have been with me on this journey, I sincerely thank you for your trust, kindness, and support. Thank you for letting me be a part of your celebrations and your memories.
